These are researched market ranges, not our prices and not a quote. The dollar figures come from published third-party cost guides — named and linked at the foot of the page — plus one figure that is not a range at all: the City of Winter Springs’ own published mechanical permit fee. They are here so you can tell whether a quote you have been handed is in the ordinary range for this work. No two houses in Winter Springs cost the same to do, and we do not quote a job before we have seen it.
The table
What duct work costs
| Job | Researched range | What drives it |
|---|---|---|
| Duct sealing | $500–$2,500 | Mastic and boots on an intact trunk. Where the leakage test says the runs are sound. |
| Partial replacement | $200–$800 per section | A crushed or disconnected run; common in 1970s–80s attic flex. |
| Full duct replacement | $2,500–$8,000 | New trunk, runs, boots and a properly sized return. The 1970s and 80s half of the city is the market. |
| Duke duct test and repair rebate | up to $450 | Instant rebate off the invoice when a certified Trade Ally does the work. Not a cost — a credit. |

Locally
Why 1970s–80s Winter Springs is the duct market
Attic flex duct from the 1970s and 80s is the most common thing still found original in a Winter Springs house. 51.2% of the city’s 13,297 improved residential parcels were built in those two decades, when R-4.2 flex in a vented attic and a single central return were the standard. The condenser has been replaced three times since; the duct trunk has not. It leaks at the boots and the plenum, into an attic at 130 degrees, and it usually cannot pass the airflow a modern system is rated at.
That is why a leakage test comes before a cleaning. Cleaning a duct that leaks a quarter of its air into the attic is polishing the wrong thing. Cleaning versus testing, answered.
The streets where this is the whole conversation, from the parcel file: Winter Springs Unit 4 (379 parcels, median 1977), Wildwood (291, 1983), Wedgewood Tennis Villas (233, 1984), North Orlando Ranches Sec 02A (191, 1980) and North Orlando Townsite 4th Add Replat (183, 1971). All five have a middle half built inside a five-year window, so the duct systems on those streets are the same age to within a few years of each other.

Duke Energy publishes an instant rebate of up to $450 for duct test and repair when a certified Trade Ally does the work — taken off the invoice rather than claimed afterwards. It still sits behind the Home Energy Check. The rebate page.
Ductwork
One room never keeps up?
That is usually a duct question, not an equipment one. A static pressure reading and a leakage test settle it in one visit.
